This database contains information about authors who live in Missouri. You can find out about their publications, the genre and audience they write for, whether they accept speaking engagements, and how to get in touch with them. Entries are grouped by author's last name.

The Missouri Authors Directory--a project of the Missouri Center for the Book--has been several years in the making and will be updated monthly. This directory includes information on nearly 500 authors currently living and writing in Missouri. If you know of an author who is not represented in the directory, please contact the Center at 800-325-0131, ext. 5 (in Missouri), or 573-751-1821 to request an author database form.

Headquartered at the Missouri State Library in Jefferson City, the Missouri Center for the Book is a state affiliate of the national Center for the Book in the Library of Congress. The Missouri Center is governed by a board of directors composed of authors, publishers, librarians, educators, and community leaders. The board develops programs and plans activities to stimulate public interest in books and reading across the state.
